Sharmila has been with BASF since September 2017.

Sharmila Govind, BASF's HR head of Market Area Africa, has extensive experience in the HR field, predominantly within the financial services sector. She has gained experience working in Europe, managing a business unit across Africa and operating at an executive level across the globe for a support function. She has also worked across several HR functionalities including, as a generalist, a Senior Project Manager, as a senior level strategist, and is currently in an executive role.  Before her current role, Sharmila has been an HR executive at Standard Bank and, before that, was the HR head at Citibank South Africa
