The SABPP recently signed an MOU with Coaching and Mentors of South Africa.

The South African Board of People Practices (SABPP) has signed up as a partner for HR Indaba Africa 2020, which will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 14 & 15 October 2020.

The SABPP is the professional body for HR practitioners and the statutory education and training quality assurance body for HR in South Africa.

The organisation is headed by CEO Xolani Mawande, who over the past five years, has managed to achieve the best provincial membership growth in the history of SABPP. Visiting all provinces and constituting provincial committees in all nine provinces, he managed to ensure a significant SABPP footprint. He reached out to the rural provinces, in particular, and ensured that through his regional support programme, the Eastern Cape managed to become the first province outside Gauteng to unseat the Western Cape and KZN as top membership growth provinces.

SABPP also recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Coaching and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA) with the intention of creating and providing a platform for a sustainable collaborative alliance in the interest of advancing HR; coaching and mentoring professionalism; knowledge-sharing and capacity-building within South Africa.

Two years of intense discussions came to fruition when the two prominent professional bodies signed the above mentioned MOU. The two organisations committed to clarifying specific common professional issues to pave the way forward to an arrangement that will regulate the activities of both organisations, and thus add value to both the HR, coaching and mentoring professions.

As a Silver partner, the SABPP will have an exhibition stand at the HR Indaba, which will be the largest of its kind in South Africa. It will give HR professionals an opportunity to learn everything they need to know about the latest HR technology, HR strategy, company culture, labour laws, recruitment, employee engagement and HR leadership. It will also bring together thousands of colleagues, suppliers, platforms, universities, specialists, recruitment agencies, CHROs and thought leaders.
