Workday has signed up as the only diamond partner for HR Indaba Africa 2020.

Workday has officially signed up as a diamond partner for the third instalment of the HR Indaba, which will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 14 & 15 October 2020.

Workday is cloud-based financial management and human capital management software vendor. The company was founded by David Duffield, founder and former CEO of ERP company PeopleSoft, and former PeopleSoft chief strategist Aneel Bhusri.

Workday has been an important partner in the establishment of the CHRO SA community, having been the primary sponsor since early last year. As the community has grown, so too has Workday continued its support. In an era where the challenge to adapt has intensified, organisations are increasingly appreciating the value that Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms like Workday offer.

Workday only officially launched in South Africa in February 2018, but the company has already secured Dimension Data, ABSA, Old Mutual, Unilever, Altron, Barloworld, Webber Wentzel and many other major clients, with numerous other partnerships in the pipeline.

Speaking at the launch of Workday in South Africa, Workday co-chairman Phil Wilmington said: “This is the most global, mobile and multigenerational workforce in history and, in 2016 alone, $3.5 trillion was announced in mergers and acquisitions. Fifty-two percent of companies on the fortune 500 in 2000 no longer exist today. And the rate of change in the business climate has only accelerated since then. What hasn't kept pace with the rate of change is the type of tool that is delivered to executives, associates and business leaders that allows them to keep up with the pace of the evolution of the world of work.”

As a diamond partner, Workday will have a number of benefits in addition to having a special exhibition stand at the HR Indaba. The conference and expo, which will be the largest of its kind in South Africa, will give HR professionals an opportunity to learn everything they need to know about the latest HR technology, HR strategy, company culture, labour laws, recruitment, employee engagement and HR leadership. It will also bring together thousands of colleagues, suppliers, platforms, universities, specialists, recruitment agencies, CHROs and thought leaders.
