Dr Angie Ontong is the director of HR development and HR planning, strategy and information management at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic).
Before joining the dtic in 2014, she served as director of capacity building in public financial management and as an HRD specialist at the National Treasury. Earlier in her career, she held senior learning, talent and leadership development roles at Leadership Management International (UK), Old Mutual, First National Bank, Barclays Africa, Stanbic and Standard Bank South Africa.
She holds a PhD in HR development from the University of Johannesburg, an MBA from MANCOSA, and a bachelor of commerce degree in banking from Oxford Brookes University.
