Asoka Moodley has been appointed as group people and culture manager at Dr Oetker South Africa, a leading food company.

Her new role entails reviving and driving the people agenda for the business.

Asoka says about her appointment: “I am humbled and happy to be back in the FMCG space. I guess my heart has always been in it and what better place to be than the world of pizza (Dr Oetker SA) and cakes (Chateau Gateaux).”

She says since joining the company, she has been welcomed and supported and she is transitioning into the role “with tremendous support not only from my people and culture team, but also from the brilliant and talented leadership team, our dynamic managing director and general manager and the greater staff complement”.

According to Asoka, Dr Oetker is in an “exciting” transition and she is happy to serve the staff and bring creative solutions in the people and culture space to make a meaningful contribution to the organisation and having the freedom to do it.

Asoka has 16 years’ experience in the HR space. She previously worked at Fury Motor Group as group HR manager. She has also held various HR roles in sectors such as motor retail, IT, FMCG, oil and gas, recruitment, banking and education.

“HR is a service. We are the custodians of such an important role in a person’s working life and we have to make that experience count. I want to ensure that the employee experience at Dr Oetker is nothing short of phenomenal,” she says.
