CHRO Neptune Masombuka joins list of nominees for the 2026 CHRO Awards

Neptune Masombuka has been nominated for the 2026 CHRO Awards for her role as chief human capital officer at the Special Investigating Unit (SIU).

She joins a cohort of HR leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CHRO of the Year title.

Neptune has served as chief human capital officer at the SIU since 2024. Before taking on the role, she was acting head of the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College.

Earlier in her career, she held roles at Group Five/Intertoll, where she served as senior HR manager, and KLMM, where she was managing director.

She previously spent four years as a divisional HR business partner at Absa and three years as HR manager at the Johannesburg Development Agency.

Her earlier roles include senior HR business partner at Liberty Life, group HR officer at Bidvest Group, and HR officer intern at the Water Research Commission.

Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
