Nomfundo Vilakazi has been nominated for the 2026 CHRO Awards for her role as people & culture director at Dis-Chem Pharmacies.
She joins a cohort of HR leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CHRO of the Year title.
Nomfundo has served as people & culture director at Dis-Chem Pharmacies since 2024. Before stepping into the role, she was head of HR centres of excellence at the company and group organisational development and talent acquisition manager.
She joined Dis-Chem in 2019 as an organisational development manager, having previously worked as organisational development manager at the South African Civil Aviation Authority.
Earlier in her career, Nomfundo was HR officer for talent, change, culture and engagement at PepsiCo Simba. During this time, she was also seconded as change and training lead for the UkuSA SAP project.
Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
