Compliance training provider Compliance Online has thrown its weight behind CHRO South Africa, supporting the community with an associate partnership. The support enables HR directors from across the country to boost their knowledge, network and career.

Compliance Online is a SETA-and-CPD-accredited compliance training company which has successfully trained more than 100,000 people using their custom compliance protocol. Through workshops and e-learning, they have developed their own “fit-for-compliance” technology and compliance protocols that make compliance training quick, easy and effective.

The company’s founder and managing director, Dr Minette Smit, was an associate professor of economics at the University of the Free State and was appointed as the first chief economist of the Competition Commission of South Africa in 1999. After leaving the Commission, she spent some time in the strategy, finance and economics knowledge team at Arthur Andersen before joining the Competition Law Department of Webber Wentzel Attorneys as their in-house economist in 2002.

She has also published a number of articles in the South African Journal of Economics and is co-writer and editor of the first and second editions of A Practical Guide to the South African Competition Act (2017, LexisNexis Butterworths, Durban).

“Compliance Online is pleased to be associated with CHRO. We view it as an important avenue to nurturing a relationship with our current and future clients. Operationalising compliance is a core function of HR professionals and our compliance solutions are ideal to assist them with this task,” says Minette.

“Our training solutions and document monitoring and tracking tool, Policy Passport, assist with simplifying compliance and mitigating risk. We regard our interaction with HR professionals as an important gateway to establishing, solidifying and growing our relationship with other functions in an organisation such as Legal and Compliance.”

CHRO South Africa was founded in 2017 and its events have fast become the preferred place for HR executives to learn together and network with peers. Besides annual events like CHRO Day, CHRO Awards and the CHRO Summit Cape Town, the community also comes together during intimate dinners. The community is further supported by the top class CHRO Magazine and CHRO.co.za, boasting interviews, thought leadership and HR news.
