Darryl Feldman joins Oasis Group as head of HR

Darryl bounces back after his retrenchment from Edcon with a new challenge.

Darryl Feldman has been appointed head of human resources at Oasis Group Holdings.

Darryl, whose position as divisional executive, human resources and transformation at Edcon was cut in a cycle of retrenchments says, “I am extremely excited to have joined Oasis Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd during such a challenging time in our country and the world. I have been gifted this opportunity to continue working when so many have lost their jobs or are struggling to hold onto theirs.”

Darryl brings over 20 years of work experience, 19 in the human resources field, to the position. His career has spanned the banking, retail and the information and communication technology (ICT) sectors.

He held various senior HR roles at Edcon, including divisional executive HR & transformation: corporate IT and strategy, head of HRBP for various divisions and divisional human resource manager.

All roles involved being a strategic HRBP, advising and guiding the business on all HR matters. He was also central in developing and implementing all of the agreed people initiatives.

Darryl took up his position on 11 January and says, “I am looking forward to the growth that will accompany this new role, as well as sharing my knowledge and experience with my new colleagues and business partners.”

His responsibilities will evolve over time, but for now they will include working with the executive team to ensure staff and organisational wellbeing.

Darryl holds a BCom Honours in Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg and a Management Advancement Programme (MAP) certification from Wits Business School. He is currently studying towards an MBA through Henley Business School with the aim of completing it by the end of 2021.
