Boniwe Dunster has been nominated for the CHRO Awards 2026 for her role as executive manager for HR at Lanseria International Airport.
She joins a cohort of HR leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CHRO of the Year title.
Boniwe stepped into her current role at Lanseria International Airport in 2024, following a period as founder and HR specialist of Blue Eagle Human Capital Practice.
Her earlier experience includes roles as a human capital business partner at Alexforbes and Old Mutual Limited, where she also served in an acting senior human capital business partner capacity.
Boniwe began her HR career at ArcelorMittal working across various HR roles, and thereafter gained experience at Accenture South Africa as talent fulfilment specialist and HR business partner.
Boniwe holds a master of people management in HR management from the University of Cape Town, a postgraduate diploma in labour law from the University of the Western Cape, and a postgraduate diploma in leadership development from Stellenbosch Business School. She also holds a bachelor of arts in industrial psychology from North-West University and a national diploma in public relations from Vaal University of Technology.
Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 24 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CHRO of the Year title, will be announced.
