Momentum Metropolitan Holdings has appointed Lettie-Basani Phume as group human capital executive, effective 1 November 2021. She makes the move from her current role as divisional head: human capital for Momentum Client Engagement Solutions (CES).

Lettie brings extensive industry experience as a leader in HR with over 20 years of experience – 13 of which have been in the insurance and financial services sector.

This experience includes HR consulting, remuneration and benefits, industrial relations, coaching, succession planning, organisational design, talent management, change management and recruiting.

“Lettie is a strategic enabler of innovative Human Capital initiatives. She embraces our philosophy of putting people first, driving people priorities for the future and has a real passion for the urgency of transformation,” says Hillie Meyer, group chief executive officer at Momentum Metropolitan.

“The combination of her experience, approach and drive makes her the perfect fit for group human capital in the early phase of our Reinvent and Grow strategy.”

Her role will include the co-ordination and enablement of the organisation’s people strategy, as well as providing direction on human capital-related practices including organisational effectiveness, learning and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, technology and transformation, among others.

“Our people strategy is Human First, with the holistic needs of our people and their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing in the workplace, a fundamental priority. We actively strive to create a welcoming environment and a culture of authentic support that recognises the whole human being, protects their wellbeing and promotes their development,” says Hillie.

“It is critical to us that we help our people find meaning in their work, and show them that what they do and who they are matters to us as we all navigate the ever-changing needs of the workplace – and Lettie will play an essential role in helping us create and maintain an environment that provides our people with the support they need.”

“I am so excited to take on this role in a company that shares the same passion and commitment to people and supporting them on their career journeys as I do – and I look forward to collaborating with people at all levels within the organisation to continue to strengthen Momentum Metropolitan’s Human First strategy,” says Lettie.
