Pam Xaba has taken on the role of group executive for human capital at Altron, after acting in the role since mid-2022.

She joined Altron subsidiary Netstar four years ago as the head of Human Capital, providing guidance and insights to the leadership team to promote operational effectiveness.

“I look forward to building a high-performance culture that recognises and rewards talent so that we can deliver to our various stakeholders,” she said.

Pam has a sterling career within the human resources field, having worked at Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages, the Johannesburg Roads Agency, Stanlib and Investec.

During a CHRO Community Conversation, Pam shared her belief that leadership goes beyond management; as it’s a selfless calling not focused on power and control.

“One doesn’t need a title to lead; it’s about how you show up,” she said.

Pam added, “You started somewhere. At some point, someone gave you a chance. It may have been through hard work, but in business someone usually sees the potential in you. Once you’re there, you need to consistently look at those who are behind you; you need to constantly carry them forward.”
