Brenda Talazo has been nominated for the 2026 CHRO Awards for her role as vice president, head of HR and business enablement at Saab.
She joins a cohort of HR leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CHRO of the Year title.
Brenda has been with Saab since 2008, building her career through a series of leadership roles within the organisation.
She has worked as vice president and head of HR for sub-Saharan Africa, following her tenure as executive manager for HR at Saab EDS. She joined the company as HR manager at Saab Avitronics.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Brenda serves as a board member of the aerospace, maritime and defence industry association. She is also chairperson of the remuneration committee (RemCo) and chairs an umbrella fund.
Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 24 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CHRO of the Year title, will be announced.
