Nicola started her career in the Mail & Guardian’s cadet programme, and grew to become an award-winning journalist covering several business sectors, including ICT, consumer industries, mining, engineering and tourism as well as the broader economy. Her passion as a journalist was financial journalism and she was a finalist in the economy and industry category at the 2010 Sanlam Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism, among other awards. After a 15-year career as a journalist, she moved into the corporate communications industry and develops strategies, profiling plans, write collateral, and assist with crisis communications in addition to reporting requirements and pitching for new accounts. In her spare time, she takes photographs, reads and spends time with her teenage daughter.
