CHRO Mag 2026

post-title

The 2026 edition of the CHRO South Africa magazine is officially out.

This edition opens with Jeanett Modise, Absa's group chief human capital officer and 2025 CHRO of the Year, who spent the early part of her career holding lives in her hands as a professional nurse and midwife. And if you think that has nothing to do with developing the capabilities of leading human capital at one of Africa's biggest banks, wait until you read her story.

Over at Pedros Chicken, Naeem Timol shares how he is making sure that as the brand grows to over 200 stores, the culture that makes it special doesn't lose its flame along the way.

At Shoprite, Dr Leigh Adams speaks about how she oversees the people strategy for over 100 thousand employees across the continent. The Momentum Group chief people executive Njabulo Nyawo also shares how he made the interesting leap from CA to CHRO.

Tucked between all of it is a feature on designing workplaces for four, sometimes five, generations working side by side.

Surrounding these profiles and insights is the community that makes this magazine what it is - the 2025 CHRO Awards, the HR Indaba, where thousands of professionals had the honest, sometimes uncomfortable conversations that needed to be had, and a movers section tracking the brilliant HR minds stepping into new roles across Mzansi.
