Julia Modise

Julia Modise is the director of Human Resources for BMW Group South Africa.

Julia has 25 years’ experience in the field of human resources.

Prior to joining BMW South Africa she was the chief people officer at Bridgestone.

Before Bridgestone,  she was the executive search consultant for Spencer Stuart Executive Search and Leadership Advisory, which she joined after fulfilling the role of general manager human resources at Multichoice Group. In addition, Julia has held the role of executive head of human resources at Growthpoint Properties and group human resources director at Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Holdings. Prior to that she spent eight years at Cummins, starting as a human resources manager and moving to human resources director. She has also held a human resources consultant position at the South African Revenue Service and a human resources manager role at Edcon.

She holds a postgraduate diploma in Leadership from Stellenbosch University, a B.Sc. in Business Administration and Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a diploma in Human Resources Management from the Institute of People Management.

Julia was previously nominated for the 2021 CHRO Awards for her role as chief people officer at Bridgestone.
