Palesa Ntoagae has been appointed chief people officer for personal and private banking Pan-Africa at Absa Group.
Palesa joins Absa after spending about three years at Old Mutual Insure, where she served as executive for human capital and facilities management.
Palesa first joined Old Mutual Insure in 2023 as human capital executive and assumed additional responsibility for the facilities portfolio in 2024.
Prior to that, she served as HR director at the JSE. Her career foundation was built at Standard Bank, where she held a series of senior roles – from HR consultant and talent manager for IT and operations, to head of human capital for personal and business banking and finally as people and culture lead for the Southern region.
She also spent time at Deloitte as a senior consultant in the human capital practice. Earlier in her career Palesa fulfilled various HR roles at KPMG and Safcor Panalpina (now known as Bidvest International Logistics), where her career journey started.
Palesa holds a BCom in management and commercial law from Rhodes University, and a postgraduate management diploma from GIBS Business School.
