Dorah Tlala-Tanor has been nominated for the 2026 CHRO Awards for her role as group chief HR and corporate affairs officer at Proconics.
She joins a cohort of HR leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CHRO of the Year title.
Dorah stepped into her current role in 2025 after serving as group chief HR officer at Proconics. Before this, she was head of HR at the same organisation.
Prior to joining Proconics, she worked as senior HR manager at Sentech SOC.
Her earlier experience includes HR leadership roles at Independent Media, where she served as group manager HR&D and regional HR manager.
She also worked as head of HR and projects at McDowell Development Institute South Africa.
Before this, Dorah spent several years at the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru), serving as national head HR, training and development after initially joining the organisation as provincial HR manager.
She began her career as a reports specialist at Alexander Forbes.
Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 24 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CHRO of the Year title, will be announced.
