Chwayita joins the group of nominees up for the prestigious awards.
Senior vice president and chief people officer at Massmart Chwayita Shude is the latest nominee for the 2023 CHRO Awards.
She joined the company in January 2022 after a stint as group HR director at Rhodes Food Group between 2019 and 2022.
She has 17 years experience in HR and management roles including being general manager for HR at Engen Petroleum as well as HR manager at Coega in Gqeberha.
Chwayita holds a master’s degree in organisational psychology from the University of London, which she completed in 2020, as well as an MBA from Unisa. She also completed a programme in strategic HR leadership with the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2007.
The annual CHRO Awards recognise CHROs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions and award them for outstanding performance and leadership. Billed as the Oscars of HR, the ceremony will host top CHROs, VIPs and business partners for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.
