G4S HR and Health and Safety Director for Africa Trishana Maharaj nominated for CHRO Awards

Trishana heads up HR for one of the continent's largest employers.

Trishana Maharaj, HR and Health and Safety Director for Africa at G4S has been nominated for the inaugural CHRO Awards, which will be taking place on 27 November 2019. The prestigious awards will give HR directors and CHROs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions alike an opportunity to be recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performance and leadership. 

Trishana has have worked across all major industries (mining, consulting, banking, FMCG, products and services and technology) covering the full value chain of HR practices such as on boarding, recruitment, strategic business partnering, EVP development, talent management, change management and business transformation, HR process engineering and efficiencies. 

Her key focus areas over the last seven years has been end-to-end HR strategy development across Africa, talent management, capability frameworks, business productivity and business transformation strategies. My geographical business understanding spans over South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Egypt, Morocco, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Malawi, Angola, Seychelles,Tanzania, Senegal, Cameroon, DRC, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Guinea, IVC, Mali, Mauritania and Gabon.

In her current role, Trishana is responsible for a team of 270 HR professionals spanning 27 African countries with legal entity presence. That HR team is tasked with servicing over 110,000 employees across the business lines for the largest employer on the continent. Prior to her current role, she held roles as HR director for Africa at Colgate Palmolive, HR director at Philips and various HR roles and Deloitte, Unilever and Barclays.

Over the coming month, CHROs and HR directors nominated for the CHRO Awards will be share some of their triumphs, accolades and challenges during gruelling two-hour interviews.
