Laressa Thavarin nominated for 2024 CHRO Awards

Air Liquide’s director of people, rewards, transformation and communication Laressa Thavarin will be in the running for the 2024 CHRO of the Year award.

Air Liquide’s director of people, rewards, transformation and communication Laressa Thavarin has added a nomination for the 2024 CHRO Awards to her long list of accomplishments.

CHRO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in HR, recognising their hard work in the past year at listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions.

Laressa, who has held her current position since February 2020, is responsible for the complete HR operations of nine legal entities in Southern Africa and Africa cluster, with a large team of over 1,200 employees throughout Africa.

She also boasts over two decades of HR experience spanning across south, east and central Africa, and has held a number of positions at various companies including British Petroleum (BP), Vodacom, Standard Bank of South Africa and Edcon.

Laressa holds a BSc in industrial psychology and business science from the University Of KwaZulu-Natal, a diploma in HR management and training from Varsity College, Woman in Leadership certification from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as a change management in HR (CMHR) certification from the HRD Institute.

The 2024 CHRO Awards nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Polo Room in Sandton on 14 November 2024.
