Life Healthcare appoints Avanthi Parboosing as its new chief people officer

Avanthi brings extensive operational experience to the role of chief people officer at Life Healthcare.

Life Healthcare Group Holdings Limited has announced that Avanthi Parboosing has been appointed as its chief people officer.

The appointment establishes the role of the CPO as a vital part of the executive management committee. The company said in a statement that strengthening critical elements of a progressive “people” function is integral to its strategy, and “Avanthi brings extensive operational experience to the role, given her tenure as a seasoned executive over the past 15 years, across a range of listed entities and industries.”

Reporting to the group chief executive, Pete Wharton-Hood, Avanthi will have overall responsibility for Human Resources and take  executive responsibility for the additional portfolios of Communications and Marketing, Stakeholder Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainability.

Avanthi will relinquish her current role as Group Company Secretary with effect from 28 February, with Joshila Ranchhod taking over from her.

Pete said, “I am delighted to welcome both Avanthi and Joshila into their new positions. They are both valued and respected members of the Life Healthcare team and bring the requisite gravitas and experience to their respective executive roles, as we gain momentum with the delivery of our strategy.”

Mustaq Brey, chairman of the board acknowledged Avanthi for her excellent contribution during her tenure and wished her well in her new position saying, “The board is pleased to support the appointment of two experienced women onto the executive leadership of the company.”
