Pindiwe Gida has been nominated for the 2025 CHRO Awards for her role as the chief officer for human capital and corporate services at the South African Local Government Association (SALGA).
Pindiwe joins the list of HR leaders among this year’s CHRO Awards contenders.
Pindiwe has held her current position since 2020. Before joining SALGA, she founded Mai Gida Consulting, offering HR consulting and coaching services. She also served as the executive director of HR and transformation at the University of Johannesburg.
She began her HR journey at Transnet Freight Rail, previously known as Spoornet, and spent several years at MTN in various leadership roles including general manager of HR service delivery, head of HR at MTN South Sudan, and senior consultant in organisation development.
Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continue to honour the country’s most influential HR leaders across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
This year’s celebration will take place on 12 November at The Polo Room in Sandton, where nine awards will be handed out, including the headline award of the night – the CHRO of the Year title.
