The long-time general manager of HR at Media24 is the latest addition to the list of nominees for the 2023 CHRO Awards.
Shelagh, who is an industrial psychologist by qualification, has been a part of Media24 for close to 20 years, and of parent company Naspers for much longer.
In that time, she has taken on the responsibility of executive development and has been involved in the development and implementation of an integrated talent management strategy for the core business disciplines (editorial, sales, marketing and leadership), based on the implementation of the leadership pipeline.
Shelagh also holds a PhD in organisational psychology from the University of Cape Town.
Speaking on how she views her role at the organisation, Shelagh says to her it means she gets to help talented people find the right jobs, develop their careers and build a great
media business.
The annual CHRO Awards recognise CHROs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions and award them for outstanding performance and leadership. Billed as the Oscars of HR, the ceremony will host top CHROs, VIPs and business partners for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.
