Tshepo Yvonne Mosadi joins Daybreak as CPO

Tshepo Yvonne Mosadi aims to champion HR excellence at Daybreak.

2023 CHRO Awards nominee Tshepo Yvonne Mosadi has been appointed as the chief people officer at prominent poultry production company Daybreak. Tshepo, who previously held the position of HR director at Hyundai Automotive SA, brings over two decades of transformative experience in strategic HR, leadership, and talent management.

She began her career at Heineken South Africa in 2016 as head of HR business partner for supply chain and support functions, as well as employee relations lead. She rejoined the company in 2020 as an HR director.

She has also held various HR leadership roles in different companies including Imperial Logistics, Hyundai Automotive South Africa and RCL Foods.

Yvonne holds an MBA from Mancosa, a human resources management degree from Unisa, and a certificate in labour dispute resolution from the University of Stellenbosch. She has also successfully completed the management development programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

Beyond her corporate endeavours, Tshepo Yvonne is deeply engaged in shaping the future of HR. Currently serving as an Advisory Board Member for the University of South Africa (Faculty of HR) and a non-executive board member for the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP). Her commitment to nurturing young talents is evident through her active involvement in skills development programs, epitomising her dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders.

On a personal note, Tshepo is a devoted mother of three and a sister to four siblings. Her love for travel and exploration reflects her adventurous spirit. Passionate about developing young talent, she uses workplace opportunities to foster leadership through skills development programmes, breaking barriers and nurturing growth within the workforce.

Tshepo says her guiding motto is, “To whom much is given, much is required,” which she says encapsulates her personality and business approach, reflecting her commitment to making a meaningful impact in both her professional and personal spheres.

In a statement, Daybreak described Tshepo Yvonne's appointment as “finding a visionary leader poised to drive organisational excellence and foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity.”

Kgaogelo Letsebe (nee Mamabolo) is the managing editor at CHRO South Africa. Originaly from from Pretoria, Gauteng, Kaygee as she is fondly known, holds a BTech in Journalism from Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria campus). With almost 10 years in the media and printing industry, she has honed her writing skills in various media sectors such as business, IT, built environment engineering, and food and beverage technology industry.
