Desereé Moelich takes on the people and culture mandate at Caribou

Desereé Moelich has been appointed head of people and culture at Caribou, moving into the role after a period of independent consulting and contract work across organisations in South Africa.

Prior to this, she worked as a freelance HR consultant and change manager, supporting a range of people and transformation projects. This included a contract as fractional head of people at DataEQ.

Desereé also worked as a change manager on Pick n Pay’s Empanda project, leading the change management workstream for the implementation of a workforce management solution.

She also spent time at Valenture Institute working as a senior HR manager, and over three years at 2U, where she progressed from talent business partner to senior HR business partner.

Her experience includes a role as guest lecturer at the University of Manchester, teaching HR in practice. 

Before this, she held positions at Digistics as a talent manager, at EMENDY Multimedia Technology Institute as HR and campus operations manager, and at MoreCorp as a group recruitment specialist. 

Desereé began her career in recruitment and HR services, with roles at DAV Professional Placement Group and Labacor.

Academically, she holds a postgraduate diploma in management practice from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.
