Alexander Forbes’ Jonathan Muthige has been nominated for the 2023 CHRO South Africa Awards.
Jonathan Muthige is a prominent HR executive with more than 30 years of experience in the field. He has held various leadership roles in top-tier companies including Standard Bank Group, Turkey BU, Coca-Cola Company, Pick ‘n Pay, Edcon, and BP.
Before joining Alexander Forbes in October 2020 as chief human capital and transformation officer, he served as group human resources director at Atlas Mara Limited, where he was responsible for end-to-end human capital across the group, covering seven countries.
Jonathan describes his work as a perfect blend of his passions for business and people.
“I am a great believer that people who are working in the HR space are the most influential people in the organisation. I’ve always believed that in any organisation, the two most important roles are the CEO and your head of human capital. These are the two people that get to see the business fully end-to-end,” he says.
Jonathan holds a BA Honours from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
The annual CHRO Awards recognise CHROs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions and award them for outstanding performance and leadership. Billed as the Oscars of HR, the ceremony will host top CHROs, VIPs and business partners for an exquisite evening of networking, entertainment and fine cuisine.
