Kholo Kunene is among 2025 CHRO Awards nominees

Kholo Kunene has been nominated for the 2025 CHRO Awards for her role as the Africa HR director and board executive at Nissan South Africa.

Kholo joins the list of HR leaders among this year’s CHRO Awards contenders.

Kholo has over 25 years of experience in HR, having worked across diverse industries. Prior to joining Nissan, she served as director of people & capability and B-BBEE leader for Southern Africa and emerging markets at Mastercard.

Her previous roles include serving as executive head of HR at Vodacom and various senior HR positions at Procter & Gamble, where she started as site HR leader for Baby Care Manufacturing plant and progressed to group HR manager. She also founded Lubanzi Human Capital Solutions and began her HR career at Anglo Platinum, later holding key leadership roles at Sasol. 

Dubbed the “Oscars of HR”, the CHRO Awards continue to honour the country’s most influential HR leaders across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.

This year’s celebration will take place on 12 November at The Polo Room in Sandton, where nine awards will be handed out, including the headline award of the night – the CHRO of the Year title.
