Momentum Group has promoted Njabulo Nyawo to chief people executive, where he will be responsible for the group’s people function.
This comes after serving as the group reward head at the same company.
Before this, Njabulo spent more than 12 years at Standard Bank Group, where he held several senior roles across reward, finance and executive management, serving as executive head: reward for Africa Regions, executive for financial insights lead for corporate and investment banking (CIB) in Africa, head of management information for global markets finance in the rest of Africa, and as head of group regulatory reporting.
Earlier in his career, Njabulo held finance roles at Absa Group Treasury as a capital analyst, at Rand Merchant Bank as a financial manager, and at PwC as a senior accountant.
In addition to his executive roles, he has held several non-executive positions. He served as a non-executive director and trustee at PPS, as a non-executive trustee at Bankmed, and he was also a non-executive audit committee member at the Office of the Chief Justice (Constitutional Court).
Njabulo holds an MBA in finance from Heriot-Watt University, and a BCom honours in accounting at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
