Palesa Matoli secures nomination for the 2024 CHRO Awards

The Bidvest Bank’s executive head for human capital and transformation is in the running for top honours at the year-end extravaganza.

Palesa Matoli, executive head for human capital and transformation at Bidvest Bank since 2022, has been nominated for the 2024 CHRO Awards. Palesa is responsible for shaping the bank’s people strategy, cultivating a culture of innovation and agility, and driving transformation across the organisation.

Before joining Bidvest, Palesa was the people & culture lead for Engineering, Africa regions at the Standard Bank Group. Here she looked after 18 countries, lead the engineering people strategy in this region, provided integrated solutions to the business and collaborated with the centres of excellence for specialist advice.

She has also held a number of senior HR positions, including being a senior human capital business partner at Altron Arrow, a senior human capital business partner: group internal audit and group governance for Africa regions and international at Standard Bank group, among others.

She recently completed a general management programme with GIBS, holds a BA (Hons) in psychology from Unisa, a BSocSci in Psychology from University of Pretoria, and a management development certificate from Milpark Business School.

CHRO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in HR, recognising their hard work in the past year at listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions.

The 2024 CHRO Awards nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Polo Room in Sandton on 14 November 2024.
