Rebaone Maakelo to oversee HR value chain at Interwaste

Rebaone Maakelo has been appointed as the group human resources director at Interwaste, where he will oversee the entire HR value chain for Interwaste Holdings and its subsidiaries across South Africa and Mozambique.

With over 19 years of experience in HR and business management, he brings a strong track record of driving people-centric strategies in diverse industries.

"I am here to partner with a great leadership team to create a winning organisation for the employees and overall communities," he said.

"I believe in forming a bridge between the employees and the overall organisational leadership by ensuring that the employees have a deeper sense of belonging, willingness to perform, drive innovation and thrive in an environment that is conducive for optimal performance," he added.

Before joining Interwaste, he served as an HR executive at Cast Products South Africa. He has also held a position at Massmart as a senior manager, people partner, HRBP lead at Bridgestone South Africa, regional HR manager at Unitrans Supply Chain Solutions, and a HR operations manager at BP.

Rebaone holds a senior management development programme in leadership and sustainability from Stellenbosch University, an advanced labour law qualification from UNISA, as well as a bachelor’s degree in human resources and strategic management, and a national diploma in human resources management both from the University of Johannesburg.
