Annalize Van Der Waal nominated for 2024 CHRO Awards


The vice president of human resources at PepsiCo South Africa, Annalize Van Der Waal, is the latest HR leader to join the list of leaders competing for the CHRO of the Year title.

Pepsico’s Annalize Van Der Waal has been nominated for the 2024 CHRO Awards.

As VP of HR, Annalize is responsible for leading the sub-Saharan Africa HR agenda across multiple countries to deliver on a transformation and growth agenda. She is also responsible for contributing on a strategic and operational level to shape the future Africa organisation through organic growth and acquisitions, as well as leading an end-to-end HR function and is a key role-player in the executive committee and Amea HR executive.

With over 25 years’ experience in HR, predominantly in the FMCG and retail industries, Annalize has gained extensive experience at companies such as Ab Inbev (SABMiller) as people director: supply and logistics: Africa, and HR director at Danone.

She has also led teams in the UK, in multiple countries across Africa, and Europe, the US and South America.

Annalize holds a master’s in commerce in HR management and a BCom (Hons) in HR management, both from the University of Pretoria.

CHRO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in HR, recognising their hard work in the past year at listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions. The 2024 CHRO Awards nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Polo Room in Sandton on 14 November 2024.
