Capitec appoints Danie Meintjes as chairman of HR and remuneration committee

Danie is a former CEO of Mediclininc International where he currently sits on the board.

Capitec has appointed Danie Meintjes as chairman of the human resources and remuneration committee with effect from 14 October 2019. Danie is a former Group CEO at Mediclininc International where he had prior experience as Divisional HR Executive and was closely involved with the Company's approach to engaging with, investing in and rewarding people. Given his wealth of knowledge and many years of experience in human resources and engagement with people across all divisions 30 years at Mediclinic, he was later appointed a designated non-executive director with responsibilities for employee representation on the Mediclninc board - a role he currently still occupies.

Danie joined the Mediclinic group in 1985 as a hospital manager and was appointed as a member of Mediclinic's executive committee in 1995 and as a director in 1996. He was seconded to serve as a senior executive of the Mediclinic group's operations in Dubai in 2006, and appointed as CEO of Mediclinic Middle East in 2007. He served as a non-executive director of Spire Healthcare Group from 2015 up to his retirement in May 2018.

He holds an honours degree in industrial psychology from the University of the Free State and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
