City Power appoints Mongezi Ntsokolo as its CEO

Mongezi has almost three decades of experience in the electricity industry.

Johannesburg’s City Power has appointed Mongezi Ntsokolo as its new CEO with effect from 1 April. He will be taking over from Nancy Maluleke who was appointed acting CEO in October last year.

An Eskom veteran, Mongezi has almost 30 years of experience in the electricity generation industry, and held high-profile positions at the SOE, including head of generation, transmission, distribution and human resources.

City Power has had several people serving in the position in the past year. Nancy took over from Malope Ramagaga who was removed in October. Malope succeeded Lerato Setshedi, who was suspended in June.

Board chairperson, advocate Lindiwe Maseko said the arrival of the new CEO would bring stability to City Power.

MMC Mpho Moerane said that while Mongezi will inherit many challenges, the most immediate tasks will include dealing with the overdraft and revenue collection, supply chain management issues, network stability, infrastructure vandalism and cable theft, outage response times, and material availability.

Embracing the strengths of neurodiversity in the workplace
