Attendees caught a glimpse of what CHRO SA can become.

As founding members of South Africa’s CHRO community, various HR executives were invited to the CFO awards on Thursday and were able to catch a glimpse of CHRO South Africa’s ambitious plans for building a local community of HR execs.

The black-tie gala event for finance executives was held at Summer Place in Hyde Park, Johannesburg and was organised by CHRO SA brother company CFO South Africa and was attended by 350 CFOs and prominent leaders from business and the public sector.

“Our hope is to one day be able to host CHRO awards just like these. We’ve already launched a website for our community, which looks great, and look forward to launching a CHRO magazine and creating an event that is comparable to the Finance Indaba,” said CHRO community manager Didi Sehume.

In attendance at the CFO awards were; Clark House Human Capital’s Roy Clark, Deloitte HR director Anneke Andrews, Vodacom CHRO Matimba Mbungela, Duncan Hardcastle from Workday, British American Tobacco’s Candice Watson and T-Systems’ VP of HR Sheila Motsepe

Hosted by comedian NIck Rabinowitz, the CFO awards were dominated by Vodacom CFO Till Streichert who received three awards, including the coveted CFO of the Year award.
