HR Indaba Africa 2018: Phaki HR Group is passionate about human capital

post-title

As cliche as it may sound, Phaki founder Rebeccah Hatlane says it is their passion that sets them apart from their competitors.

With only days left before the inaugural HR Indaba, the anticipation from partners is palpable. In this article, we speak to the founder of Phaki HR Group, Rebeccah Hatlane, about why she is looking forward to the event.

What is Phaki HR Group, how long has it been around and what was the reason for starting the company?

"Phaki is a human capital consultancy company, specialising in talent recruitment, training and HR project management. We strategically partner with organisations to fulfil their HR mandate.  I started the company in 2008, so we have been operating for the past 10 years. We have branches in other parts of the country. We started in Limpopo but are now also operating in four provinces with the head office in Johannesburg. We take pride in working with leading organisations in the private and public sector as our main clients.

"Before I started the company, I worked as an account manager for a then JSE listed agency. I wanted to venture into my own business where I could still apply my experience but offer different value to clients. I saw a huge gap in the market for tailor-made HR services. What drove me to start Phaki was my passion for developing people. Being able to pay a part in someone's career development and seeing them achieve greater things is extremely rewarding for me."

How do you differentiate yourselves from other competitors in your space?

"We do what we do with great passion and excellence. As a dynamic company passion and excellence is part of our value system.  We have over the years managed to get retainer businesses based on the standard of quality services we offer. We are consistent with our services hence we still have with clients that we started working with 10 years ago. Our track record is a testimony to our business growth.

"Furthermore what differentiates us, is our dynamic approach to client service. We understand that each client is different and therefore, we offer tailor-made services specifically designed for each business. We do not have a blanket approach to the way we do business, but we ensure that we come up with methodologies that are relevant for specific client needs. We are a very client-orientated business and value relationships in the sense that we almost become an extension of our clients.

Why have you signed up for the HR Indaba and what should attendees look forward to seeing from you at the event?

“My business development officer recommended the HR Indaba as part of our marketing strategy. We signed up for the HR Indaba in order for us to participate in one of the best HR conferences in the country. We are also excited to meet HR Professionals from different organisations across the country to introduce them to our dynamic services.

“The attendees should look out for our stand to get our latest service offering, best HR Solutions and meet our dynamic team. We are also introducing our new Phaki brand with extended dynamic services. I will also be presenting in the knowledge dome, speaking about Talent acquisition and retention in the receding economy discussing best strategies to attract and keep top talent. I am looking forward to the indaba.”
