Be sure to register for the event as there will be limited space available for this inside-look into what it takes to thrive in this profession.

Building a successful career is difficult and, no matter how many self-help books one can read, there is no formula for achieving that success. The HR profession is no different. Being successful in this field requires hard work, determination and a bit of luck. Although there is no magic wand that one can use to guarantee success, there are things that you can do to significantly improve your chances.

The inaugural HR Indaba, which is to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre of 3 & 4 October 2018 will offer a special masterclass to HR professionals who will be able to hear from leading HR professionals about how they have managed to build great careers. Recently appointed CHRO of Sanlam Investments Jeanett Modise will moderate this special session, for which there are only 50 seats available. In addition to having had a sterling career with HR and Corporate Services experience in the Finance, IT, and Manufacturing sectors, Jeanett has been inducted into The Future of HR Hall of Fame, an accolade bestowed upon her for the outstanding contribution she has made in driving workplace transformation in her role as the Head of HR and Transformation, Santam Insurance.

Attendees of the masterclass will be fortunate to be able to be part of the career-building discussion, which will be steered by someone who has previously held executive roles at SAP Africa, AngloGold Ashanti, IDC, and Mutual & Federal. This upcoming masterclass will provide insider tips, new perspectives and fresh angles and on how to build a successful career. If you're serious about your career, you dare not miss it. In order to participate in the Masterclass, please register for the ???HR Indaba using the promo code MS2018.

Jeanett describes herself as a strong team player with the ability to drive organizational change, deliver results and contribute strategically to leadership teams in dynamic, customer focused, growth businesses where the attraction, retention and development of top talent is one of the key business drivers.

Joining Jeanett in the discussion will be FNB Wealth and Investments Head of Talent Acquisition Tshidi Khunou, and Dr James Ramakau, who is a Senior Human Resources Manager at AngloGold Ashanti.

Tshidi and James are both relatively young HR professionals who are on the success path and already have a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to become a successful HR practitioner. As someone who has spent a lot of his time selecting and inducting graduates into the companies he has worked for, Tshidi will be able to share his thoughts on what qualities set the best candidates from the rest.  Meanwhile, James, who is very passionate about making sure companies do the right things in the way they deal with their people, will be able to share his thoughts on what steps one has to take in order to position themselves as a prime candidate to develop as a leader in their organisations.

Most people fail to achieve their goals because they either didn't have a solid action plan, or they did not set up the appropriate support structure and accountability partners to help them stay focused and motivated on achieving their goals. And coaching is an ideal support structure to help you achieve your personal and professional goals because accountability and commitment are two of the most important elements in the coaching process.
