The countdown to the 2025 CHRO Awards has officially started, as nominations continue to pour in for this prestigious event.

CHRO South Africa is excited to introduce a brand-new category that shines a well-deserved spotlight on the unsung heroes of government HR strategies — the Public Sector CHRO of the Year Award.

The Public Sector CHRO of the Year award honours an outstanding leader driving innovation in government HR. The winner sets the benchmark for excellence, ensuring a skilled, diverse workforce, while navigating regulations and tight budgets. They excel in retaining top talent through strategic planning and development. Their leadership enhances employee growth, improves service delivery, and reinforces HR’s role as a catalyst for transformation in the public sector.

The window to nominate is open, but not forever. The closing date for nominations is Friday, 11 April 2025.

Embracing the strengths of neurodiversity in the workplace

The term neurodiversity is becoming ubiquitous in a world where the diversity in peoples’ cognitive abilities is being highlighted in the mainstream. Current estimates show that as many as 15 percent to 20 percent of the global population is neurodivergent, meaning that one in five employees falls into this category.
