Vatiswa Nthoesane to audit people strategy as AGSA’s new CPO

Vatiswa Nthoesane has taken up the role of chief people officer at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA). She steps into the position after serving as head of people operations since 2024.

Her appointment follows an extensive tenure within the institution, where she has held several leadership positions across human capital including serving as senior manager, human capital business partner, and human capital shared services manager.

Vatiswa has also worked as owner manager of Lumengo Services Employment Agency and served as cabin crew manager at South African Airways. 

Her experience in government includes serving as senior administration officer and HR manager at the Department of Land Affairs. She also held the position of administration head at Old Mutual South Africa and began her career as a trainee manager at Woolworths.

Vatiswa holds a master of business leadership in business administration, management and operations from the University of South Africa and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of the Western Cape. She has also completed a HR management certificate at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
