Wilson Rooy joins Imerys as HR director

Wilson, who joined the firm in October 2024, was previously the HR director at Sumitomo Rubber South Africa.

Seasoned HR executive Wilson Rooy has been appointed as the HR director at Imerys, a French multinational company that specialises in the production and processing of industrial minerals.

Before joining the company, Wilson was the HR director at Sumitomo Rubber South Africa for two years. Prior to that he was the head of HR at Lafarge South Africa, based in Lichtenburg, North-West.

His rich work experience includes being the general manager for HR at Nissan Motor corporation, head of HR for the newspapers division at Media24, senior HR manager at the Metropolitan Health group, as well as being the HR manager for the Saiccor at Sappi.

Wilson holds a number of qualifications including an MBA from the University of Pretoria, a BA (Hons) from the University of the Western Cape and a higher diploma in education from the University of the Western Cape.

Kgaogelo Letsebe (nee Mamabolo) is the managing editor at CHRO South Africa. Originaly from from Pretoria, Gauteng, Kaygee as she is fondly known, holds a BTech in Journalism from Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria campus). With almost 10 years in the media and printing industry, she has honed her writing skills in various media sectors such as business, IT, built environment engineering, and food and beverage technology industry.

Embracing the strengths of neurodiversity in the workplace
