Anita Carollisen appointed as head of people and transformation at Takealot

Anita takes over from Nomaxabiso (Norma) Teyise who is now the group executive for human capital at Lesaka Technologies.

Africa’s largest online retailer, Takealot, has announced seasoned exec Anita Carollisen as its new executive head for people and transformation.

Anita was previously the chief executive for people support at PEP, looking after the HR function in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini.

She has a rich history in retail, having previously been the head of HR of the Foschini division within the Foschini Group.

Anita takes over from Nomaxabiso (Norma) Teyise, a 2023 CHRO Awards nominee, who is now the group executive for human capital at Lesaka Technologies.

On her LinkedIn account, Anita shared her jubilation at joining the e-commerce champion: “I’m so excited to be part of a proudly South African team and business that brings convenience and access, across a wide range of products and services, to our incredible customers.”

She has qualifications in industrial psychology from Unisa, a BTech in HR from Cape Peninsula and a post-graduate diploma in management practice, international business from the Henley Business School.

Embracing the strengths of neurodiversity in the workplace
